HELLO DECEMBER

Christmas is one of the most joyous holidays around the world. The day is celebrated with sheer happiness and utmost love by people regardless of their religion. It is the day of giving and receiving love, laughter, gifts, and creating cherished memories with near and dear ones. There are many things that are essential in decorating spaces for Christmas, and on such element is the Christmas Tree.

If you are curious to know the symbolism of the Christmas tree, I would say grabby a cup of coffee and get cozy and read on.

Spiritual Meaning of a Christmas Tree

In Christianity, Christmas tree is symbolic of birth and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The tree’s branches and shrubs are viewed as an emblem of immortality and are said to symbolize the crown of thorns worn by Christ on the cross. Also, every decoration used to adorn the Christmas tree is believed to have a special significance. And spiritually, our qualities are also said to be ornaments; for instance, peace, love, kindness, joy, goodness, Faithfulness, gentleness, etc. Though, people choose the ornaments for decorating as per their choice. The stated Christmas tree spiritual meaning is followed by all Christians, which is why they give utmost importance and work hard in decorating the Christmas tree. Decorating the tree gives the whole family a cherishable time and every year, all the members come together to adorn the tree with various ornaments and make wishes for a healthy and joyful life.

Commonly, people use a shining star as Christmas tree topper. But why? People are of the opinion that the star guided the wise men to Jesus Child in Bethlem. Angel is also used as tree toppers because it is said it was the angel who announced Christ’s birth.

What Christmas Tree Toppers Stand For?

  • The bells hanging at the side of the tree branches represent the joy and happiness of this day.
  • The candy cane-shaped, like shepherd’s crook, represents God’s shepherd.
  • The wreath is an epitome of true love.

The meaning of the Christmas tree is deeply rooted in our history, tradition, and culture. Musch more than for beauty and refreshing piney scent, Christmas tree is adored for its holy importance.

Merry Christmas to All!

Why Family Traditions Matter

When my husband and I started creating unique and meaningful family traditions, it wasn’t because we’d heard that focusing our lives on experiences rather than things create more lasting happiness. However, the more we’ve incorporated little traditions – like a hug and kiss hello or goodby. When you first arrive, you can expect a big hug from me.

Good morning and good night – we always tell each other good morning or good night and tell each other we love them.

The kitchen – The kitchen was our family meeting place. We all discussed our day, helped with food prep, setting the table, doing dishes, and just came together as a family. We have made so many memories at our kitchen table over the years.

Making birthdays special – Everyone’s birthday happens on day a year so for that special day we get together for a lunch or dinner to celebrate their special day. I find myself watching my children make their own memories together and reliving the joy and love of my own memories through them.

October brings getting ready for hunting season – My husband and son, grandkids have hunted here at our place for the last 17 years. So many memories over the years of the boys hunting together and bonding.

Puzzles – I always set up a table starting around November and keep it through to the New Year. We enjoy putting together Christmas puzzles. This year James our son pulled a prank on me and gave we a puzzle of a pile of white puppies. Well, when I opened it up there was a picture of dogs pooping. LOL!!!!

Thanksgiving – brings our family and extended family together for the last 26 years at our place. the memories of all our loved ones coming together and remembering all the past gatherings bring joy to my heart

Christmas is the favorite time of year for me – I love all the lights and decorations that Christmas brings. We have 6 large trees and not sure how many little trees I set up every year. Oh, and I can’t forget the Christmas village that always has something new added to it each year. We gather on Christmas Day for our family Christmas. We have lots and lots of food, joy and love.

Craft Days – every year Jennifer, Kristen and I get together and do Christmas crafting. So much fun and laughter while we are making our creations.

My Crochet Journey

Both my mom and grandma crocheted all the time. At an early age I learned to crochet. There was always a crochet or sewing project going on in our home. Always a project near the sofa so when you set down was easy to pick it up and start where you left off

My grandma always told me that “crochet is an ancient art!” Well, she was not wrong. Crochet craft has been passed down for generation. I feel very blessed to have learned from such amazing crocheters.

Now, I started crocheting before there was internet. Yes, way back when. I would look at a crochet peace and make my own pattern. I learned to read my first crochet pattern in my early twenties. Filet and mosaic crochet intrigues me.

I crochet when I’m watching tv. That way I am still with my family and getting to visit with them. With a crochet hook in hand and skein of yarn I’m set for the evening.

I’m a crochet artist and designer. I started my business at an early age creating my designs and patterns.

Below are just a few items I have made. I do take orders if there anything you would like to have made.

When crocheting if gives me peace and helps me to reflect on my day. It reminds me of my mom and grandma. Crocheting gives me a sense of history and timelessness. The understanding that I can create something that could outlive me and develop a legacy for the next generation.

Hello World

Welcome! Come on in and stay a while. We are a husband-and-wife team with 3 adult kids and 3 grandchildren. Our simple living journey started back in 1998. God blessed us greatly. We brought our two family’s together and was able to purchase our first place together.

We worked hard at our first place making it a working farm.

With the love for horses, I started boarding horses and giving riding lesson. Stace was right by my side every step of the way. Our business grew. We sold that place and moved to a big horse facility that would hold up to 65 horses. It was a lot of hard work. We went from a hand full of horses to the sems busting open. We were at full capacity. Over the years there I showed, trained, and gave lessons.

We moved again to a larger place. Some of my clients moved with us. At our new place it was laid back. we still showed our horses. With the property we were able to go on long rides and enjoy the countryside.

Due to injuries over the years, I started slowing down. We found the place we are now and had to have it.

We picked up and moved again. In 2009 Stace and I started Tailspin Farms in Stockdale Texas.

You can ask us about rabbits, chickens, goats, pigs, cows, horses, honeybees, gardening, home cooking, Bar-B-Q, Canning and just living the simple life.

Stace and I want to share our knowledge and experience of this hard work we do called farming or homesteading. So, come along with us and our family as we go through this journey.

Blessing,

Margarita & Stace
