St. Patrick’s Day observes of the death of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. The holiday has evolved into a celebration of Irish culture with parades, special foods, music, dancing, drinking and a whole lot of green.
St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated annually on March 17, the anniversary of his death in the fifth century. St. Patrick’s Day will take place on March 17. The Irish have observed this day as a religious holiday for over 1,000 years. On St. Patrick’s Day, which falls during the Christian season of Lent, Irish families would traditionally attend church in the morning and celebrate in the afternoon. Lenten prohibitions against the consumption of meat were waived and people would dance, drink and feast on the traditional meal of Irish bacon and cabbage.
In 2025, daylight savings time starts on Sunday, March 9, and ends on Sunday, November 2025.
According to Wikipedia – Daylight saving time, also referred to as daylight saving, daylight savings time, daylight time, or summertime, is the practice of advancing clocks to make better use of the longer daylight available during summer so that darkness falls at a later clock time.
Why did daylight savings time start in 1970? In the early 1970s, America was facing an energy crisis, so the government tried an experiment. Congress passed a law to make Daylight Savings Time permanent year-round, but just for two years. The thinking was more sunlight in the evening would reduce the nation’s energy consumption.
Was daylight savings for farmers? Myth: Daylight Saving Time was Created to Benefit Farmers – The truth of the matter is the agriculture industry lobbied against daylight saving time in 1919. Some believe it was then that farmers became associated with daylight saving time, even though they were only involved because they were against it.
What time do farmers wake up in the morning? Historically, farms all had cows to milk, and it’s most comfortable for the cows to get milked at evenly spaced times each day, which means on a two a day milking cycle, you find farmers milk early (say 5am and 5pm) to eat dinner at a normal-ish time and see their kids before bedtime.
A New Year is like a blank book, it has 12 chapters and 365 pages, and you are the author. Our wish for you is that this year, you write the most beautiful story possible for yourself.
May every day of the year be filled with joy and happiness for you and your family!
Every year the girls (Jennifer and Kristen) and I create a Christmas Ornament or Christmas decoration.
Well, this year Jennifer suggested that we do a painting game.
So, we started with three blank canvases set the timer and began painting. When the timer went off, we changed places and started painting on the next persons painting.
This is harder than you would think…you have no idea what the other person is painting.
Kristen’s and my painting no one caught onto what we had in mind of painting.
Jennfer’s painting, we all caught on to what it was Snoopy.
Kristens is the flower. It was supposed to be the sun and was going to have a tree silhouette. As you can see it turn out nothing like Kristen planed.
Then there is my painting in the middle. I was thinking of the sky with a tree silhouette. Well, mine turned out with flowers, Marson and dog poop. LOL!!!!!!!
As we are making our creations we decided to gift them to Bubba for Christmas.
It’s been a long hard year, full of up’s and down’s and we just wanted to say thank you to all of those family and friends who have helped us through the year.

Spiritual Meaning of a Christmas Tree
In Christianity, Christmas tree is symbolic of birth and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The tree’s branches and shrubs are viewed as an emblem of immortality and are said to symbolize the crown of thorns worn by Christ on the cross. Also, every decoration used to adorn the Christmas tree is believed to have a special significance. And spiritually, our qualities are also said to be ornaments; for instance, peace, love, kindness, joy, goodness, Faithfulness, gentleness, etc. Though, people choose the ornaments for decorating as per their choice. The stated Christmas tree spiritual meaning is followed by all Christians, which is why they give utmost importance and work hard in decorating the Christmas tree. Decorating the tree gives the whole family a cherishable time and every year, all the members come together to adorn the tree with various ornaments and make wishes for a healthy and joyful life.
Commonly, people use a shining star as Christmas tree topper. But why? People are of the opinion that the star guided the wise men to Jesus Child in Bethlem. Angel is also used as tree toppers because it is said it was the angel who announced Christ’s birth.
What Christmas Tree Toppers Stand For?
The bells hanging at the side of the tree branches represent the joy and happiness of this day.
The candy cane-shaped, like shepherd’s crook, represents God’s shepherd.
The wreath is an epitome of true love.
The meaning of the Christmas tree is deeply rooted in our history, tradition, and culture. Musch more than for beauty and refreshing piney scent, Christmas tree is adored for its holy importance.
When my husband and I started creating unique and meaningful family traditions, it wasn’t because we’d heard that focusing our lives on experiences rather than things create more lasting happiness. However, the more we’ve incorporated little traditions – like a hug and kiss hello or goodby. When you first arrive, you can expect a big hug from me.
Good morning and good night – we always tell each other good morning or good night and tell each other we love them.
The kitchen – The kitchen was our family meeting place. We all discussed our day, helped with food prep, setting the table, doing dishes, and just came together as a family. We have made so many memories at our kitchen table over the years.
Making birthdays special – Everyone’s birthday happens on day a year so for that special day we get together for a lunch or dinner to celebrate their special day. I find myself watching my children make their own memories together and reliving the joy and love of my own memories through them.
October brings getting ready for hunting season – My husband and son, grandkids have hunted here at our place for the last 17 years. So many memories over the years of the boys hunting together and bonding.
Puzzles – I always set up a table starting around November and keep it through to the New Year. We enjoy putting together Christmas puzzles. This year James our son pulled a prank on me and gave we a puzzle of a pile of white puppies. Well, when I opened it up there was a picture of dogs pooping. LOL!!!!
Thanksgiving – brings our family and extended family together for the last 26 years at our place. the memories of all our loved ones coming together and remembering all the past gatherings bring joy to my heart
Christmas is the favorite time of year for me – I love all the lights and decorations that Christmas brings. We have 6 large trees and not sure how many little trees I set up every year. Oh, and I can’t forget the Christmas village that always has something new added to it each year. We gather on Christmas Day for our family Christmas. We have lots and lots of food, joy and love.
Craft Days – every year Jennifer, Kristen and I get together and do Christmas crafting. So much fun and laughter while we are making our creations.
Both my mom and grandma crocheted all the time. At an early age I learned to crochet. There was always a crochet or sewing project going on in our home. Always a project near the sofa so when you set down was easy to pick it up and start where you left off
My grandma always told me that “crochet is an ancient art!” Well, she was not wrong. Crochet craft has been passed down for generation. I feel very blessed to have learned from such amazing crocheters.
Now, I started crocheting before there was internet. Yes, way back when. I would look at a crochet peace and make my own pattern. I learned to read my first crochet pattern in my early twenties. Filet and mosaic crochet intrigues me.
I crochet when I’m watching tv. That way I am still with my family and getting to visit with them. With a crochet hook in hand and skein of yarn I’m set for the evening.
I’m a crochet artist and designer. I started my business at an early age creating my designs and patterns.
Below are just a few items I have made. I do take orders if there anything you would like to have made.
When crocheting if gives me peace and helps me to reflect on my day. It reminds me of my mom and grandma. Crocheting gives me a sense of history and timelessness. The understanding that I can create something that could outlive me and develop a legacy for the next generation.
